THE WIZARD OF OZ

1. Contexto 

Edad: 4 -5 años
Esta obra de teatro la efectuaríamos después de que cada niño hiciese un trabajo previo viendo la película o leyendo el cuento previamente en  casa con sus padres.
Esta versión estará adaptada a esta edad.
El niño al haberse visto la película será capaz de entender la obra a pesar de no entender el inglés.

2. Objetivos

Con este teatro, pretendemos que el niño consiga:
- Descubrir las cualidades que creen no poseer y realmente si las tienen
- Afianzar la autoestima
- Destacar el valor de la amistad y la cooperación y colaboración
- Desarrollar la empatía

3. Temporalización

Esta actividad la realizaremos en la sala polivalente (ya que suele ser la más amplia) y la realizaremos el 18 de Marzo, ya que coincide con el día mundial del teatro.
Esta representación la realizaremos por la mañana, a partir de las 11 (hora aproximada)

4. Texto

 Narrator: Once upon a time there was a girl called Dorothy who lives in a small grey house in Kansas.

One day a cyclone cames near her home and Dorothy runs into the bedroom and windows beats on her head.       

The house flies and flies for many hours and suddenly stops.

 When she wakes up, she is a strange place.

Dorothy: This isn’t Kansas Toto.

Narrator: Dorothy strange, started to walk along yellow brick road. Suddenly she found a scarecrow

Scarecrow: Hello little girl!

Dorothy: Oh, you can speak! Do you know where I am?

Scarecrow: No, but the wizard can help you. Do you want me to go with you?

Narrator: And they continued walking along the yellow brick road.

 Later, they found the tin woodman.

Dorothy: Do you know where the wizard lives?

Tin woodman: Yes, he lives in Emeral City.Come with me.I want to talk with him.

Narrator: Finally, they found a lion.

Dorothy: Do you know where Emeral City is?

Lion: Yes, it’s near here. Could I go with you? He scares me….

Narrator: The four arrived to Emeral City to talk to the wizard.

Witch: I will help you if you bring me the broom of the evil witch of the west.

Narrator: They go to the castle where the witch lives and they fight with her.

They come back with the wizard and give him the broom.

The wizard give them the present they want: The scarecrow wants a brain, the tin woodman wants a heart and the lion wants courage.

Dorothy wants to go back her home. But she only has to close her eyes, click her heels three times and say:

Dorothy: Take me home to Kansas

Narrator: When she opens her eyes she is back home with her family in Kansas.

5. Metodología

En primer lugar, trasladaríamos a los niños al aula polivalente y los sentaríamos en el suelo. Cuando estén todos colocados, bajaríamos la luz y comenzaríamos la obra. Un narrador contará la historia mientras los personajes actuarán en escena.
Los elementos de los personajes serán:
- Dorothy: Zapatillas rojas
- Espantapajaros: Gorro espantapajaros
- Hombre de hojalata: Embudo metalico o plateado
- León: Peluca de rizos
 - Mago: Turbante
Tras la actuación, realizaremos una actividad en relación con la obra que acaban de ver y finalmente  los devolveríamos a sus respectivas aulas

6. Actividades

La actividad  a realizar será repartir caretas con las caras de los personajes para que los niños lo pinten. Después les añadiremos un palo o una goma para que se las pongan, y asi poder jugar a ser cada uno de los personajes de la obra.

7. Vocabulario

El vocabulario a enseñar es el siguiente:

Scarecrow: Espantapájaros.
Emeral: Esmeralda.
Tin woodman: Hombre de hojalata
Yellow brick road: Camino de baldosas amarillas

8. Vocabulario a repasar
El vocabulario que queremos repasar es el siguiente:
Wizard:Mago
Witch :Bruja
Lion:León
West:Oeste

9.Materiales necesarios

Atrezzo: Cada personaje se distinguirá con un elemento característico viniendo a ser:

 - Dorothy: Zapatillas rojas
- Espantapajaros: Gorro espantapajaros
- Hombre de hojalata: Embudo metalico o plateado
- León: Peluca de rizos
 - Mago: Turbante
